Forget the battle of the buldge! We have other things far more pressing than our waistlines to think about for the coming new year. I put together a list of my own New Year’s Resolutions and I encourage everyone to add to it anything of importance you feel I missed. May Peace and Prosperity be with you through the coming months, and may your life be blessed with purpose! Happy New Year!
For 2009
I offer a conscious list of
New Year’s Resolutions
For our fellow human Brothers and Sisters
1. honor all walks of life for we are one and to deny another is to deny the self.
2. feed clothe and shelter those who are in need.
3. support sustainable industry and buy fair trade materials to honor the worker.
For the domesticated animals who bring us so much love joy and nourishment
1. Support organic, transitioning and family owned sustainable farms. Considering healthcare costs and planetary destruction, shopping this way is actually cheaper in the long run.
2. Eat less meat. Just for starters, Flatulent farm animals are responsible for 14 per cent of global methane emissions.
3. Be kind and respectful to all our animal friends. They have so much love and kindness for us. It’s the least we can do for them.
For Mother Nature
1. Give her thanks and blessings everyday and think twice about what you are about to throw away.
2. Find out what permaculture is and how you can incorporate it in your own gardening.
3. Play with intention when interacting with water. When bathing or drinking intend that precious water help wash away all negativity you might be carrying in your aura. I like to ask water to cleanse me and make me open to the truth of all things, to remove the veils from my eyes, and intend that the water I return to the earth be enriched by me.
For Wildlife
1. Respect the habitat of mother nature’s creatures.
2. in meditation imagine yourself living in the skin of the creature you most fear. Try to see life behind its eyes and maybe shift your consciousness.
3. defend and support the endangered species act!
For Peace
1. be the change you wish to see.
2. organize and attend PEACE rallies.
3. silently and privately imagine your higher self embracing from the heart those you encounter on your daily path, especially those who appear to be most agitated and angry. And most of all those who you harbor in anger or hatred in your own mind.
4. Most importantly, turn off your TV!
